Happy New Year!

As we celebrate a new year I am struck by what a blessing “time” is. Often we look at God’s creation of time as nothing more than a countdown clock to our eventual passing from this world or as a slow progression through the valleys of life, but time is so much more. Time gives us chance to change and start over. Because of the gift of time we can choose a point along that time line to put our foot down and make the declaration that today things will change so that tomorrow will be a better today. We choose the beginning of a new year to make such declarations or resolutions. Maybe this year you want to make some changes to your financial status, health, or grow yourself in the arts by learning to paint or play an instrument. I want to challenge you this year to make some changes that will affect every area of your life, by making some changes to your spiritual self. Spend more time this year praying, reading God’s Word and meditating on the truths found there and see how every aspect of your life improves. Over the next few posts I am going to help you train for and “run” your own Spiritual Triathlon that in the end will bring you closer to Jesus than you have ever been before. God bless you and remember I am praying for you on your journey. And I wish you all a very Happy New Year!
